Acclaimed Touring Artists Team with Local Musical Talent, for the Second Annual YettiFest at The Bull & Bear in Downtown Monterey.
MONTEREY, CA. Aug. 5, 2016 – Dynamic touring artists, as Hawaiian Reggae-Pop princess HIRIE and Island Reggae stalwart Jordan T will perform, alongside talented local acts at the second annual YettiFest Monterey music festival created “for the people, by the people,” in downtown Monterey over the three-day Labor Day weekend.
Held over five days, if you include opening and closing night parties, at The Bull & Bear Whiskey Bar & Taphouse at 479 Alvarado St., the festival features nearly 30 musical acts, as well as DJs, karaoke, live art with DTK World, psychedelic live oil mixing with Nelson Brasden, fashion show, hand-crafted jewelry, food by Wolffman BBQ, craft brews and cocktail selections from a full bar.
Festival organizers, Anthony Buich and Tanya Moore shares,”YettiFest is a local music festival for the people, by the people; a central place where local musical mysteries have greater opportunities to become national legends, from blues, rock, roots and reggae. The best part is local element; local food, bands, artisans, charities, etc. – paired with some quality national and regional acts.”
Headlining touring acts include sultry singer HIRIE on her “Wandering Soul” album release tour on Friday night; Brazilian reggae singer KELLSA on her Latina flavored “RioReggae” EP release crusade and island reggae star Jordan T, currently on his “Bridges” solo album promotion tour, both on Saturday night; and Synrgy and Guidance Band closing out Sunday night.
South Bay Dub All-Stars, Natural Revolution, Satellite Sky and Hot Stone Stars. On Saturday night, the touring act Soulwise and Peter Jong Chang will showcase their musical goods and on Sunday night, Bobby Love & Sugar Sweetat Thursday’s kickoff party.
Local bands performing over the weekend include Pacific Grown, Wasted Noise, Andrew Jay, Jake Nielsen’s Triple Threat, Hammerdown, Rod, Mojo Banditos, La Yerba Ruda, Tony Miles, The Lightfighters, Johnny Tsunami, 13 Stones, and Eddie Gutierrez.
YettiFest opens with the “Last Supper” kickoff party that includes a 4-7pm Happy Hour and live music with Bobby Love & Sugar Sweet from 6-10 p.m. and karaoke hosted by Tristan Martinez w/ Push Entertainment from 10 p.m. to close.
Monday’s closing party features Eddie Gutierrez & Friends’ Open Mic from 3-6 p.m., Big Sur rock band 13 Stones from 6-10 p.m. and karaoke hosted by Tristan Martinez from 10 p.m. to close.
Tickets are $16 advance/$20 door for Friday and Saturday; $12 advance/$15 door for Sunday, or $40 (with in-and-out privileges) for weekend passes covering all three days; available at YettiFestMonterey.com.
