The Late Ones , are a Reggae/ Hip Hop band coming out of the 808 state, but now reside in the greater Los Angeles area. We at Sessiontapes.com were first introduced to Tau, Tui & Josh back in November of 2016 when they performed along side Through The Roots and La Yerba Ruda at Casa Sorrento in Salinas Ca. Since then we had been trying to get a feature with the trio and that moment arouse when the 8th annual California Roots Music & Arts Festival artist line up was released.
This passed May we had the chance to film their performance as the The Late Ones rocked the Originals Stage on the opening day of Caliroots. Not long after we caught up with Tui & Josh for a sit down interview where we discuss several different topics like how they came up with the name “The Late Ones”, their influences, the experience of performing at California Roots this year, the process of making their first EP, their up coming full length album, and more.
