Rise Up Release First Studio EP “Lion Roar”
Rise Up has released their first studio EP titled Lion Roar EP, a three‐song collection recorded, mixed, and mastered by EN Young for Roots Musician Records. Lion Roar EP is out now on all Digital Outlets via Roots Musician Records.
Lion Roar EP was recorded in a one‐day session at Imperial Sound Studios in San Diego, CA. Rise Up decided to link up with EN Young in order to achieve a polished yet recognizable version of the heavy, dubby, Roots Rock Reggae sound that they have become known for in their live performances.
“We’ve been big fans of EN and his musical style since back in his Tribal Seeds days and have followed his progress as a solo artist and producer ever since,” said Chris Alcantara (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Keyboards). “When the idea of working with him for our first real studio recording started becoming a reality, there was no going back in our minds, we had to make it happen. He was a perfect match for us. Plus, the fact that he was willing to play keys on 2 of the tracks made it such an amazing experience.”
The band feels that their current lineup of Alcantara, Alex Cortez (Drums), Leland Smith (Lead Rhythm Guitar, Melodica), and Rich Mihalek (Bass) is the most solid and driven that they have had since forming in 2016. “Though we’ve been gigging around for a while, we truly feel that this first release is only the beginning for Rise Up,” said Cortez. “Keep an eye and ear out for us, we have a lot in the works for the very near future.”
